dog obedience training?

I need help with my new dog.

I just recently gotten dog and I have very little experience with dogs. I absolutely love my dog, but she needs obedience training. I can’t really afford training classes, so I was hoping to find a good book. Any recommendations or tips?

Hey guys, give some perfect and strong keywords regarding how to train my dog, training a pet dog, dog grooming, obedience training for dogs etc…

I have a 10 week old lab puppy who will pee on the floor right after you bring him in the house. I spend a good 15 to 20 minutes with him outside and the minute he gets in the house he goes potty on the rug/floor. What is the best wayto resolve this? He loves going outside but he just doesnt do his peeing out there. Any suggestions?

And I know there’s petco and petsmart but honestly I’ve tried it and they did a horrible job. So any ideas

I just got my 9 week old pure breed boxer puppy and he is full of joy but how do i attract him to his training pad? i have everything else taken care of i but his urine scent on it will that help? any ideas?

I have the same issue with my Great Dane. I happened to see your e-mail on trying to get help. I was wondering if you went to the vet and if if was in fact a urinary infection?

Or Petsmart…
Or something better.
I need to enroll my puppy in a training class soon, and I have no clue where I should go!
I didn’t get her from a breeder; I got her from a friend.
Or maybe could I just try to train her at home?
She’s a GSD, so she’s really smart and learns really fast.

I want to train my puppy to go on newspaper but also outside any suggestions

This message is fairly long, but I hope to detail what his problems are and how I’ve tried to manage them. I hope that with my description someone knowledgeable on dog training can give me some creative and positive ways to help train my dog in obedience so he can be more satisfied and confident with his accomplishments. I understand the answers will only provide a brief response and that I could make my knowledge broader by purchasing a book or personal professional training, but at least for the immediate I want a simple and more affordable way just to help build my relationship with him.

My dog Ridley is a rescue adoption that I’ve had four weeks now. He is nine months old. He is a Pomeranian. Ridley was from a home where he was crated about seventeen/eighteen hours out of the day. When he was released it was primarily to be put on a chain outside with no human interaction. When loose and not outside on the chain he competed for attention with another dog for the little attention he did receive. I have concluded through observation that this has led to him believing that to get something he must take action to acquire, but I don’t know how to help him understand that he must not be aggressive in his desires. If anyone has any other conclusions about how this life could have affected his behaviour please share them.

When I attempt to sit with him and work in a quiet environment with no outside distractions he is still inattentive. If I am holding food in my hand and he realises this he will not look at me as I say his name but continue to attempt to remove the treat from my grasp. Speaking with a firm voice or a soft voice does not affect how he reacts to my calling on him. If I have no treat at all he is disinterested completely. Ridley does not react to simple gestures I make to communicate with him that I want him to sit, lay, or stay. He looks past me completely and focuses solely on the treat. I don’t know how to make him understand I’m trying to interact with him, but he tries only to take whatever I have on my person instead of being in an actual connected effort with me.

I know that he is perceptive and intelligent enough to learn simple obedience commands and better behaviour but I don’t know how to make it important to him to do so.

The method that works for obedience training in my experience with past pets is positive enforcement, as I plan to instil confidence in his abilities; but I’ve never had a dog so adamant to disregard my gestures and verbal direction, and I’ve never had so many problems asking a dog to do a simple task without at least some feedback on their part letting me know they’re trying. With Ridley I just don’t know if he takes into account anything I am trying to communicate with him or cares.

Any help or advice from someone who has had considerable experience with dogs and training would be much appreciated!
