I am thinking of getting me a puppy and was wondering if anyone out has tried the puppy indoor grass pads, and do they work, on trying to house train your puppy?

they do work, but no better than crating or the old fashioned move-the-newspaper-nearer-the-door methods imo.
Save your money.

No. I mean, if you want to train your dog to eliminate in the house, on something that feels almost exactly like carpet, then yea, they work. Not to mention the smell, or having to clean it. Housetraining to go outside just isn’t that hard to make all of those pads and such necessary. If it’s a puppy, it’s even easier.
1. feed the puppy.
2. Put the puppy in the crate.
3. Wait 15 minutes (less time, the younger the puppy. You can stretch this time as it gets a little older).
4. Take the puppy outside to the same spot every time and praise it to high heaven (treats, too) when it goes outside.
Your puppy should be getting the idea in a week, be totally trained in a month- tops. Just make sure you take it out enough, and that the crate is small enough so they don’t just go in one end and sleep in the other.

I don’t support teaching your dog to go to the bathroom inside the house. Its best to just take him outside to go to the bathroom, so he doesn’t get confused later when you try to switch from the pads to actually going outside. Dogs seem to have more "accidents" that way.
Look into "crate training" to housebreak him. It works really well, and if you follow a schedule right, there’s almost no accidents.

I don’t use it. Try the basic training.
This kind of training really requires a lot of patience, time and hard work. Create a solid program and make sure that you stick with it.
