Ryan is right, he understands that dogs aren’t people and when we treat them like people we end up with dogs that nobody wants to be around. When he ignores them upon entering the house, he is letting them know that he expects certain things from them. He gives them a job. A dog loves routine and consistency. Anyone who wants the chaos is insecure about themselves. They need the dog to display what they think is “love”. You need to think about how weird that is. Do as Ryan says. He’s right.

Common sense tell us that too much anxiety is not good for your dog. So peeps here who don’t understand the need of doing what the trainer says, try changing to cats instead.
I like your pit bulls btw. It is great to see a trainer owning two pit bulls.

he’s displaying how your dogs should be: calm, submissive and relaxed
by sofieraw, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
His dogs are like that because he’s really calm around them, and doesn’t talk much to them except when he’s repremanding them. They could be falsely reading the fluctations in his voice at times. They’re young though, they’ll get used to it.If he was hitting them and also lavishing praise on them when they were good you still might not see that he hit them…But,I don’t think thats the problem here…They look bored,or just done having a romp and are cooling down(GREAT time to film a video, huh?)
by sofieraw, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
No,he’s getting the responsibility part out of the way,so the rest of their lives they’ll get all his love an nothing but praise for their good-behaviour.There WILL be accidents. But,as long as praise outweighs punishment dogs do great.Besides, everyone knows that you excersise the heck out of your dogs to sap their energy. For a few reasons tired dogs are really obedient dogs. And news-flash: Pets are the biggest responsibilities, next to children, and caring for people who can’t care for themselves.
by el5pk, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
he seems to keep his dogs more as a responsibility than for the love of dogs..but he’s still right
by DinosaurPajamas, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am

I like when my dog is jumping and when he’s excited when I come home, why should I ignore him when he is so happy to see me….it is stupidity….
by muffinx123, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
that’s exactly wat i do i just ignore my dog till she is calm or i go outside with her and then i pet her
by 88dogpr88, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
please people educate yourself, he is right, dogs do not think like us, they get really confused when we treat them like humans. If you love your dog, read , buy a book and learn whats your pet really needs to have a healthy life. ^_^

by Gippygoosehead, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
I bet you that xena2345678 dogs a retarded… lol
by lenalena111, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
i think he should tell them to sit and kinda wait for a sec for them to calm down. but i dont think he should just walk in and ignore them. i do agree, however, that praising a dog like mad when they start getting excited just encourages that anxious, energetic state of mind, which is not good for human or dog.
by BarryDeen, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
Don’t confuse happiness for anxiety. When dogs are so excited they are jumping and wagging their whole bodies instead of just their tails, they are not happy.
by ainas90, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
I always pet my dog when I come home
I like it when she is happy
by xena2345678, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
hey mister, get a hobby. Your dogs are so miserable, they r so sad, “dont pet your dog when u get home” that ’s no 1 not to do. Dogs get excited when they see you come from outside, they love u, thats why they r excited, i bet when u come home, your dogs dont get excited because they dont like u
by dogwhisperer2, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
i HOPE U DO NOT EVER GET PAID FOR THE STUFF U ARE PUTTINING IN VIDEOS! tHAT WOULD BE ANOTHER CRIME…
by JohnnnnyB23, on December 30 2009 @ 8:24 am
Chances r that in ur life you have seen more unbalanced/untrained dogs than content/relaxed dogs. So the average person expects to see a jumpy/licking/barking/nibbling dog. The dogs in this video seem perfectly content. TAIL BETWEEN LEGS? Now ur really stretching it! The brown dog clearly came toward his owner for affection without the owner calling him at all. Afraid? When r u going to post a “proper” video of ur own id0069? This is a great tip that I wish all dog owners could learn! Thanks!
