Step-by-Step Dog Obedience Training And Tips For Your Pet Dog

Puppy training?

I am going to get a toy fox terrier puppy. I want to teach it tricks like sit, jump, shake, and roll over. Should I take it to a training class instead of teaching it myself?

Personally I like taking my dogs to classes. Its great socialization for the dogs and a wonderful way to learn more than one approach to problem solving.

Either way, training the dog will be something you do yourself. That being said… do you know the best ways to train a dog? Training classes are mostly to train the human part of the team.

I professionally train dogs and do behavioral training consultations. I know how to train a dog. I STILL take my dogs to classes.

just as long as you have lots of dog treats and a lot of time,
training your dog to be less of what it is breed to do is inhumane, but you need to know the how dogs think and act towards you, you are its master. you should look in to book on puppy training so that you can do it your self or you can
take the puppy to a training class, I think that there are expensive.

I would see how you manage training the pup first, it takes a lot of patience but eventually the pup will learn.
Check out this site, it has tricks and everything you might need for your new little puppy. Have fun and good luck!

well, it’s up to you, it’s not cheap to get a dogged trained, but if you want to do it yourself, start training her at 5 months old and try to get most of the training in by 1 year because it is harder to train a dog after it is 1 year old.

    Hope it works!!!!

Definitely enroll in a class. It helps with socialization too. For parlor tricks, I suggest buying a book on the topic.

Make sure the pup is old enough to learn "tricks". They do have puppy kindergarten classes for basic manners and obedience. The teacher should tell you when it’s appropriate to begin more advanced training.
