Step-by-Step Dog Obedience Training And Tips For Your Pet Dog

puppy training?

I was placing my 4month puppy in a crate when i went to work 7hours would be the longest time away, and when i came home and through the night she would be out. Then i started taking her to puppy training classes and the trainer told me to purchase a play pen to keep her in while at work and to but in the crate at night. I’ve noticed that during the day she is peeing in the playpen, nights are okay in the crate. What should i do i feel we are going backwards because when she was in the crate during the day we did not having any accidents. Would it be wrong if i kept her in the crate during the day while i’m at work and bed time

7 hours is way to long for her to be left in a crate. You are actually drastically increasing the risks of her getting ill, like from a urinary tract infection or becoming impacted from not being able to use the bathroom.

I really suggest that if you want to crate her while at work you:
    1. Come home during lunch to let her out and use the potty.
    2. Have a friend, relative, or trusted neighbor let her out.
    3. You hire a dog walker/pet sitter to give her a potty break.

Please read the following information about house training and crate training. I hope this helps!

No, it’s not wrong to keep you r dog in a crate during the day, but you should come home for lunch or have someone let her out during the day so that she can go outside. All day and then all night for a 4 month old puppy is WAY TOO LONG! Your pup should be let out of the crate every 2 to 3 hours. But also needs play and walks, too!
