Step-by-Step Dog Obedience Training And Tips For Your Pet Dog

Puppy Training……..?

I have taught my 11 week old puppy to sit, shake, down, rollover, speak/quite, and have house broke and crate trained him in less than 2 weeks but I cannot get him to stop nipping my hand or my pants. When he does this i either give him a toy to chew on or just stop playing with him. He also likes to snap when trying to give him a treat. He has been teething but it looks like most of his teeth are in. I have tried teaching him to "let go" but its not working. He doesn’t really chew anything up other than what i give him to play with when he does i say no and he quits but this nipping has got me stumped I don’t know what else to do. he doesn’t seem to be aggressive while doing it either.
do i spray that on my hands?

Well your dog is only a puppy and they only want to play they are like a baby.

Once your dog gets to 6 months and there is still no improvement then take your god to puppy training.

You can buy purina chew deterrent from walmart for under $10. It works really well with my puppy. its nontoxic so it is safe for animals.

i have two german shepard dogs and one of them use to jump up and nip our faces when we came out the door. he would nip at our faces when we were sitting and playing with him and it would HURT!
i finally had enough when he tried to jump and nip at my pregnant aunt. my boyfriend always told me to give him a good smack on the nose when he nips at my face and i was so against it!! until one day my boyfriend and i were sitting with him (Rex the nipping one) and rex bit my boyfriends face hard! and well my boyfriend slapped his nose and said "no". and he hasn’t bitten or nipped at him since and the following time he did it to me i gave him a little smack on one nose and said "no" and he hasn’t since then.. i think its all about being in control. mind you i do not beat my dogs.. i love them to death! they are my babies… i just give them a little smack to scare them.. they never cry or whimper or rub there nose. so if you decide to do this do not do it hard..
but if you are completely against it then i read online that when your pup nips at you yelp very loud! just a big painful cry (even if it wasn’t) then turn away from him. dogs are so loyal and love you so much. doing this shows him that he hurt you and you are upset with him. and hurting you is like the end of the world to him and he will ever do it again. i never got a chance to try this because rex stopped nipping. good luck =)

As soon as he nips, stop and completely ignore him. Once he calms down play with him. Verbal cues are ok, but don’t raise your voice, because dogs can perceive that your yelling at them, and you don’t want to have to deal with your dog being fearful because that can make nipping worse. Your best bet is to do as I said and make sure everyone who is around your dog does it as well. Just be patient it takes time to train a puppy properly.
