When do I start potty training my puppy outside? 10 points best answer?

I have a pom pom puppy that is 6 weeks old. I don’t know if I should start letting him go outside to potty or wait because he is so young and keep using the puppy pads. I’m in the process of paper training him as of now.

I would start straight away and never allow or encourage going to the toilet indoors. You will have accidents of course, but be patient and vigilent. Do not allow access to the whole house – only let him loose in the room you are in. If you train him on pads – you will have to re-train all over again, and that won’t be easy. Start as you mean to go on.

Start about half a month after getting them, before then, just use puppy pads.

Start outside asap. Dogs should potty outside, not in your home. Teach him from the beginning that outside is where he needs to potty. If you paper train him first he’ll just get confused

The sooner the better, same spot/same time, we use a phrase /quickly-quick the dog k now that when he hears that sound he has to potty.Plan to stay outside till he potty’s,it may take sometime, then praise like he won a GOLD metal/lots of praise

He should be with mom and littermates for another month at least. Take him back to where you got him and tell them you’ll be back in a month. Sheesh. As for pottying him outside, if he has had one set of shots it’s fine to take him in your yard.

Most animals (like most people) don’t want to s*** where they eat and sleep, put some of his waste outside, show it to him, and he will get the hang of it.
