Step-by-Step Dog Obedience Training And Tips For Your Pet Dog

I don’t want to train him to be a guard dog (just strict obedience training) because I don’t want to make him attack people (it’s not financial at all, I’ve trained other dogs with 4 figure prices) so,
1. Will the dog bark at people that approach my gate?
2. Will he attack people that come in my house?
3. Will he make my SUPER SWEET Pit Bull vicious?
Thanks for any help.

    1. Depends on the dog. Most dogs will alert bark if someone approaches your house.
    2. Depends on the dog, but it is highly unlikely.
    3. How is your pittie with other dogs? Nothing will "make him vicious", but if your Pit isn’t good with dogs, I don’t recommend getting another one.

All of this depends on the animal.

    1. Will the dog bark? Depends in the dog. Try to get a lively puppy and don’t scold him’her when they bark.
    2. Will he attack people? No, not if you train him correctly and socialize him as a puppy.
    3. If you Pit Bull has been socialized with other dogs before, then no. If not, maybe.

MOST dogs will protect you no matter what. Some won’t. It’s different personalities and can’t always be helped or planned.

1-Yes, GSD’s have a natural instinct to guard what is theirs.
2-You don’t want him attacking anybody that doesn’t attack you first.
3-Not if the GSD is a good tempered dog like he should be.

German Shepherds will bark at people when they hear noises outside because most dogs do, he won’t attack if you treat him with respect and care for him it depends on the way you treat your dog whether he is likely to attack other humans (hopefully you won’t use him to attack other people…) and he wont make your pit bull vicious if again you treat him nicely ad not cruelly :)

He could be a guard dog, but just hope for the best. Also, sometimes dogs bark at visitors.

you have to socialize your dog so it doesn’t bark at strangers, like take him to parades and places with a lot of people, with training he won’t attack people that come in your house, and if you teach him properly then your pit bull won’t learn any bad habits and any dog will protect their pack members (you and others in your house) and house. it has instincts and and any dog will at least attempt to protect from a break in

    1. It depends on the individual dog as watch dog behavior is innate & does not require formal training for the dog to react by barking when someone approaches the property & there its job ends.

    2. Attacking visitors would denote viciousness, which is a fault in the dog’s genetic temperament. If a GSD was born with a sound temperament it would not attack visitors.

    3. How does your American Pit Bull Terrier react when dogs come into the home? Is he territorial & attempt to assert his position over other dogs or growl to signal that they should back off? The question is whether or not your current dog would tolerate the presence of another dog in the household.

Purchasing a second dog wound not change the genetic temperament that nature gave your current dog.
